North Cascades - October 12.

| Parked at a gravel pit across from the Foggy Dew campground. We arrived about 10:30 and started to gear up to ride, even as late as it was, it was still very cold - I'd guess it was still below 35 degrees F. Temperature during the night was around 20 in Omak where we stayed. |

| Spence. This trail was extremely difficult due to the very dry conditions. Riding up 17 switchbacks isn't fun when the trial is this dry. |

| Somewhere up the trail near the top of the ridge on the Middle Fork Foggy Dew Ridge, not sure what the name of this trails is because our maps didn't show it. |

At this point we decided we had abused ourselves enough so we turned around
and went back to the trucks. This was the shortest ride I've ever
done. It took us about 5 hours to cover 15.2 miles, and 4 miles of that was
on the Forest Service road between the trailhead and parking area!! I've added this trail to my list of "trails I will never ride again." |

| Pot Peak trail ascends the mountains and then goes across the ridge and up to a trail junction. |

| This photo is at the trail junction. Left goes to Stormy Mountain, right goes out the Devil's Backbone. |

| We rode back down to the trail junction at Pot Peak and rode out Devil's Backbone. I'd ridden this route last year and forgot how rocky it was. There were a few switchbacks that challenged us as well. The section above is just before we dropped over the edge into the rock garden. |

| We arrived at another trail
junction and decided to go to the right and head towards Junior Point.
Left goes out to the Lake Creek Trail area. We should have taken the
Shady Pass Road back the trailhead but took the North Fork Twenty Five Mile
Creek Trail instead - that was a big mistake! There were plenty of gnarly switchbacks and the trail was very loose. |

| This was a fun trail across the top of the ridge, this trail led us to the North Fork Twenty Five Mile Creek Trail. |
